چکیده

La1-xSrxCoO3-δ belongs to the group of perovskite oxides of the ABO3 structure, with a trivalent rare earth in the A position (La) and a trivalent metal ion in the B position (Co). Doping with divalent Srions at the trivalent La-positions creates oxygen vacancies which give the oxide catalytic properties to H2O2. However, the conventional techniques which are used to prepare this oxide such as chemical methods, are not suitable for making a thin film. In this paper, a thin layer of La1-xSrxCoO3-δ (x= 0.5) perovskite oxide is deposited on a Pt electrode by using the Pulsed Laser Deposition technique. The catalytic properties of this perovskite oxide to hydrogen peroxide due to the presence of the oxygen vacancies will be discussed. The results show the possibility to use this perovskite oxide as a sensing material for potentiometric hydrogen peroxide sensors.

Real-time impedance monitoring of oxygen reduction during surface modification of thin film cathodes.

Improvement of solid oxide fuel cells strongly relies on the development of cathode materials with high catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction. Excellent activity was found for perovskite-type oxides such as La1-xSrxCoO3-δ (LSC), but performance degradation, probably caused by surface composition changes, hinders exploitation of the full potential of LSC. This study reveals that t...

Tensile Lattice Strain Accelerates Oxygen Surface Exchange and Diffusion in La1–xSrxCoO3−δ Thin Films

The influence of lattice strain on the oxygen exchange kinetics and diffusion in oxides was investigated on (100) epitaxial La1-xSrxCoO3-δ (LSC) thin films grown by pulsed laser deposition. Planar tensile and compressively strained LSC films were obtained on single-crystalline SrTiO3 and LaAlO3. 18O isotope exchange depth profiling with ToF-SIMS was employed to simultaneously measure the tracer...

Synthesis, Structures, and Physical Properties of Yttrium-Doped Strontium Manganese Oxide Films

Cubic strontium manganese oxide is an end-member of the colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) family of manganese-based perovskites, Ln1-xAExMnO3. Because normal synthesis conditions lead to the 4-H hexagonal polymorph, high-pressure conditions are typically used to obtain the cubic perovskite polymorph. In this work, we describe the synthesis and structural/physical characterization of the cubic per...

Electronic conduction in La-based perovskite-type oxides

A systematic study of La-based perovskite-type oxides from the viewpoint of their electronic conduction properties was performed. LaCo0.5Ni0.5O3±δ was found to be a promising candidate as a replacement for standard metals used in oxide electrodes and wiring that are operated at temperatures up to 1173 K in air because of its high electrical conductivity and stability at high temperatures. LaCo0...

Hydrogen sensing by localized surface plasmon resonance in colloidal solutions of Au-WO3-Pd

Nowadays, hydrogen has attracted significant attention as a next generation clean energy source. Hydrogen is highly flammable, so detection of hydrogen gas is required. Gold nanoparticle based localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is an advanced and powerful sensing technique, which is well known for its high sensitivity to surrounding refractive index change in the local environment. We p...
